Mike Tyson punches passenger during flight
Mike Tyson was involved in an altercation with another passenger on a flight Wednesday.
Footage obtained by TMZ Sports shows Tyson repeatedly punching a man seated behind him on a plane. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. PT after Tyson boarded a JetBlue flight from San Francisco International Airport to Florida, TMZ reports.
A witness told TMZ that Tyson took a selfie with him and was initially cordial. The witness said Tyson eventually asked the man to stop bothering him, and when he didn't, Tyson threw several punches at him.
Tyson left the plane shortly after the incident, according to the witness. The man who was punched reportedly received medical attention and went to the police.
Representatives for Tyson issued a statement to TMZ on Thursday.
"Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat," Tyson's representatives said.
The 55-year-old last stepped into the boxing ring in 2020, when he faced Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match.
