Scheffler defeated Kevin Kisner 4 & 3 in the Finals of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play on Sunday.
Analysis:After going his first 72 starts on the PGA Tour without a victory, Scheffler has now won against incredibly strong fields in three of his last five starts and has overtaken Jon Rahm for the No. 1 spot in the OWGR. Scheffler dropped a match in group play to Tommy Fleetwood, which set up a sudden-death playoff against Matthew Fitzpatrick to determine who would advance to the knockout stage. The playoff featured incredible shots by both players, but was finally decided with Scheffler's birdie on the sixth playoff hole. The home town boy then got revenge against Billy Horschel in the Round of 16 after losing to Horschel in the finals of this event last season. From there Scheffler really couldn't be stopped and was just not going to be denied this win. The 25-year-old will now take a week off to make sure he is 100 percent physically going into the Masters.
