Any NBA team hoping to secure LeBron James for the final act of his professional career should be prepared to acquire his teenage son Bronny James.
"My last year will be played with my son," James told The Athletic's Jason Lloyd. "Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point."
To that end, James won't even rule out a third stint with his home-state Cleveland Cavaliers, the franchise where he starred from 2003-10 and again from 2014-18, netting one of his four career titles in 2016.
"The door’s not closed on that," James said of a possible Cavaliers reunion. "I’m not saying I’m coming back and playing, I don’t know. I don’t know what my future holds. I don’t even know when I’m free."
LeBron is under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers through 2023. Meanwhile, Bronny - a four-star point guard prospect at Los Angeles' Sierra Canyon High School - isn't eligible to be drafted before 2024, per current NBA rules.
