The New England Revolution announced the arrival of Jozy Altidore on Monday, signing the American forward to a contract through 2024.
Altidore completed the move as a free agent after Toronto FC announced Monday that they bought out the 32-year-old, exercising their one offseason buyout of a guaranteed contract.
"I am excited to begin this next chapter with the Revolution and look forward to competing for trophies in New England," Altidore said.

In their announcement, the Revolution added that Toronto will pay a portion of Altidore's salary through 2023.
Altidore spent seven years at Toronto FC, winning the MLS Cup in 2017 and scoring 79 goals in all competitions for the Canadian club. He was named MLS Cup MVP after scoring the winning goal against the Seattle Sounders at BMO Field.
"We want to thank Jozy for all of his contributions to Toronto FC over the last seven seasons. He scored some of the most important and memorable goals during the most successful period in our club history," TFC president Bill Manning said in a statement.
"We wish Jozy well in this next chapter of his career. His place in TFC history is secure, and our fans will never forget the moments he produced."
In New England, Altidore will reunite with head coach Bruce Arena, who coached the striker with the New York Red Bulls from 2006-08.
"I am grateful for this opportunity to reunite with Bruce Arena and look forward to getting to work with my teammates immediately," Altidore added.
Altidore also enjoyed spells in England with Hull City and Sunderland. He has 195 goals in 550 games for club and country.
