Report: Nets, 76ers will discuss Simmons-Harden trade before deadline
A trade including the Brooklyn Nets' James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons may be a possibility prior to the NBA's deadline.
The Nets are now open to Harden's inclusion in a deal for the disgruntled 76ers guard, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Charania mentioned Seth Curry, Tyrese Maxey, and Matisse Thybulle as potential add-ons to sweeten any possible trade.
It was previously reported the two teams would potentially explore a deal in the summer, with Brooklyn unwilling to part with Harden this season.
The possible change of heart reportedly stems from the Nets' skepticism surrounding the 10-time All-Star's fit next to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
The trio has played just 16 games together over the past year-plus, although Brooklyn is 13-3 when all three players share the court.
Despite the Nets' willingness to listen to offers for Harden, the organization reportedly believes it currently has a core capable of competing for a championship.
Philadelphia has been searching for a trade involving Simmons since the disgruntled point guard began holding out of training camp prior to the season. With the 76ers positioned near the top of the Eastern Conference, their main focus is bringing back talent to help them immediately.
