Veteran striker Jozy Altidore is set to join the New England Revolution, sources told Jeff Carlisle of ESPN.
Altidore is expected to sign a three-year deal with New England once a resolution is made on his current contract with Toronto FC. He will not count as a designated player for the Revolution.
The 32-year-old spent the last seven years with Toronto FC. He helped guide the club to an MLS Cup in 2017, scoring in the final and was named MVP.
Altidore was limited over the last several seasons due to injuries, and a rift with former coach Chris Armas. He appeared in just 29 games since 2020, scoring six goals. His departure from Toronto frees up a designated player spot for incoming star Lorenzo Insigne.
Altidore was acquired by Toronto in 2015 from Sunderland in exchange for striker Jermain Defoe.
Internationally, Altidore has been a key figure for the United States. He has 42 international goals and played in two World Cups.
