After missing out on multiple players in the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur finally landed a pair of targets Monday.

Spurs finalized the signings of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus, bolstering both their midfield and attack in one fell swoop.

The deals are subject to international clearance and work permits.

Bentancur joins on a contract until 2026 for an initial €19 million. Juventus could pocket another €6 million in bonuses. The 24-year-old Uruguayan midfielder will create more competition in Antonio Conte's midfield, providing a dogged box-to-box presence and assuming some of the minutes vacated by Tanguy Ndombele, who joined Lyon on Monday.

Kulusevski, meanwhile, moves on an initial €10-million loan until the end of the 2022-23 season. The deal also includes a €35-million purchase option that will become mandatory if certain conditions are met. It's believed those clauses are related to Champions League qualification and Kulusevski's number of appearances for the remainder of the campaign.

Improving the attacking ranks has been a priority in January for a Tottenham side that has just 26 goals in 20 league matches. Before moving for the 21-year-old Swedish international, Spurs failed with reported bids for Adama Traore and Luis Diaz, who moved to Barcelona and Liverpool, respectively.

Kulusevski's struggling to replicate the form he showed when he was one of Italy's most electric young players during a breakout campaign with Parma in 2019-20. Tottenham director Fabio Paratici, who signed the winger during his time in the Juventus front office, clearly believes he can rediscover that dynamism.

The Swede had one goal and three assists in Serie A this season. Only five of his 20 appearances were starts.
