Denver Nuggets forward Bol Bol has undergone foot surgery and will be out indefinitely, the team announced.
Bol is expected to miss between 8-to-12 weeks of action, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.
Bol was slated to be traded to the Detroit Pistons last week, but the deal fell through after he failed his physical.
The 22-year old has yet to make his mark in the NBA, scoring just 142 points in 53 games over two-plus seasons in the league.
A trade to the rebuilding Pistons was supposed to give Bol a chance to carve out a rotation spot for the first time, but his extended absence is likely to push that opportunity to next season.
