Mariners' Robbie Ray: Headed to Seattle
Ray signed a five-year, $115 million contract with the Mariners on Monday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
Ray won the 2021 AL Cy Young Award after he posted a 2.84 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 193.1 innings across 32 starts during his first full season with the Blue Jays. The 30-year-old will now be rewarded with a long-term deal that includes an opt-out clause following the 2024 season.
