Clippers president: 'No one knows' when Kawhi will return from injury

Los Angeles Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank says it's unknown when two-time Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard will return to the court.

"I think at this point, it's just no one knows when you're dealing with a recovery from an ACL (injury), the time frame," Frank said, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.

"You just attack it day by day. He has a very detailed plan with a great group, and we'll just let his body and the doctors tell us when it's the right time," Frank added.

Leonard suffered a partially torn ACL in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Utah Jazz on June 14 and underwent surgery to repair the injury on July 13. The five-time All-NBA selection is in the midst of a "significant rehab," Frank noted.

With Leonard unavailable, the Clippers will lean heavily on co-star Paul George as the team's No. 1 offensive option. Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris, Terance Mann, and new addition Eric Bledsoe are among those who will also take on larger roles.

Leonard was brilliant for Los Angeles when healthy last season. He averaged 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.6 steals and finished with a 51/39/88 shooting line across 52 games.
