The Sacramento Kings won't include either De'Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton in a potential trade for disgruntled Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons, a source told The Athletic's Sam Amick.

Talks between the two franchises apparently broke off weeks ago, and with neither blue-chip guard available, the Kings reportedly expect to enter the 2021-22 season as presently constructed.

The 23-year-old Fox is set to begin a five-year, $163-million contract this season after putting up 25.2 points and 7.2 assists per game for the Kings last year. Haliburton, the 12th overall pick in 2020, impressed in his first pro campaign, shooting just under 41% on threes while finishing third in Rookie of the Year voting.

Simmons has reportedly informed 76ers leadership of his desire to leave the team and does not intend to report for the beginning of training camp later this month, regardless of whether the organization fines him for his holdout.

For his part, star 76ers center Joel Embiid appeared to make an effort to mend fences with Simmons on Monday, tweeting he "love(s) playing with Ben."
