Report: Lakers evaluating potential reunion with Isaiah Thomas

At 32 and having played just three games last season, Isaiah Thomas' NBA career appears to be on the ropes. However, the Lilliputian point man evidently still has supporters around the league.

Thomas is among the free agents the Los Angeles Lakers are considering signing, sources told basketball insider Marc Stein.

A hip injury during the 2017 playoffs disrupted Thomas' career trajectory before the All-NBA guard made 17 appearances for the Lakers down the stretch of the 2017-18 campaign.

Thomas has bounced around the league and been unable to recapture his previous star-level scoring efficiency since putting up 28.9 points and 5.9 assists per game with the Boston Celtics in 2016-17. He put up 7.7 points per game on 33.3% shooting in three outings with the New Orleans Pelicans last year.

Despite his uneven shooting during his short stint in New Orleans, Thomas said in April that his state was the best he'd felt since his injury woes began.

The 5-foot-9 dynamo showed flashes of his former self last week, scoring 81 points in a game at Jamal Crawford's Crawsover Pro-Am in Seattle.

"And it was even better in person," Crawford tweeted. "What (Thomas) did today we will be talking about decades from now."
