Report: Seahawks' Brown won't practice without contract extension
Seattle Seahawks left tackle Duane Brown is refusing to practice without a contract extension, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The 35-year-old is in the final year of a deal he signed in 2018 that will pay him $10 million in base salary for the 2021 season.
However, the veteran - whom Seattle traded for in 2017 - is unhappy he's yet to receive a new agreement, Schefter reports.
Brown has started every game he's suited up for during his Seahawks tenure. The offensive lineman, who committed one just penalty and allowed only one sack in 2020, last reached the Pro Bowl in 2017.
Losing the offensive unit's anchor for any length of time would likely also affect star quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson was outspoken this offseason about his displeasure with the number of hits he's taken during his career.
Seattle is also currently without star safety Jamal Adams as he seeks a new pact. Both Adams and Brown have been in attendance but have not participated in practice.
