The Toronto Maple Leafs did a bit of bargain-bin shopping to shore up their offensive depth.
Toronto inked a trio of free-agent forwards in Michael Bunting, Kurtis Gabriel, and David Kampf on Wednesday.
The Leafs officially locked up Bunting to a two-year deal with an average annual value of $950,000.
The 25-year-old spent the 2020-21 season with the Arizona Coyotes and put up 13 points in 21 games. Bunting scored 10 goals, reaping the benefits of an outlandish shooting percentage (26.3) while averaging almost 17 minutes of ice time per game.
Gabriel's agent, Daniel Milstein, announced the forward inked a one-year deal with the Leafs. The contract carries a cap hit of $750,000, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.
The 28-year-old Gabriel has spent time with the Minnesota Wild, New Jersey Devils, and San Jose Sharks. He's well-known for his activism off the ice and support of the LGBTQ community.
Toronto announced Kampf signed a two-year deal with an average cap hit of $1.5 million. The 26-year-old put up 12 points in 56 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season.
