Report: Arsenal close to signing Brighton's White for £50M
Arsenal are in the final stages of completing a deal for Ben White.
The Gunners and Brighton Hove Albion reached an agreement in principle for the English center-back to move to north London in a transfer worth around £50 million, reports David Ornstein of The Athletic.
White's arrival at the Emirates Stadium could be announced shortly after he completes a medical.
The fee would result in the 23-year-old becoming Arsenal's most expensive defender ever and the third-highest signing in the club's history after Nicolas Pepe (£72 million) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£57.38 million).
Arsenal kicked off their pursuit of the England international after reportedly submitting a £40-million offer last month. Brighton rejected Arsenal's initial bid, but talks continued as White was understood to be eager to leave the Seagulls.
White earned a call up to the England squad ahead of Euro 2020 after starring in 36 matches for Brighton last season.
