Report: T-Wolves' Edwards sprains ankle, out for Team USA training camp
Rising Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will miss the remainder of the Team USA training camp in Las Vegas after suffering a mild ankle sprain during Wednesday's practice, sources told ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
Edwards was one of 17 players named to the USA Basketball Select Team, a group of players training alongside the senior roster ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
The Rookie of the Year runner-up led all first-year players this past season with 19.3 points per game. He also averaged 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.1 steals across 72 contests.
The national team training camp began Tuesday and runs through July 18. The Olympic opening ceremony is slated for July 23, with the U.S. senior men's squad facing France on July 25 to start the preliminary stage.
