London, July 2, 2021 (AFP) - Leeds signed Manchester City winger Jack Harrison for a reported fee of around £15 million ($20 million) on Friday after his successful loan spell at Elland Road.

Harrison agreed to a three-year contract with Leeds following three seasons on loan with the Yorkshire club.

Leeds had an option to make Harrison's stay permanent after his latest loan campaign with Marcelo Bielsa's side.

"As part of his loan deal last season, an option was put in place for Leeds to sign Harrison on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, which has now been activated," a Leeds statement said.

"Harrison has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Elland Road, running until the summer of 2024."

Harrison has made 128 appearances in all competitions for Leeds and played a key role in the club's return to the Premier League.

He featured in 36 league games for Leeds last season, scoring eight goals, as they completed their first top-flight campaign in 16 years with a ninth-place finish.

City signed Harrison from sister club New York City in January 2018 and he joined Leeds on a season-long loan the following July.
