Oscar De La Hoya has his sights on a rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

The former world champion, who's scheduled to return in an exhibition boxing match against MMA fighter Vitor Belfort on Sept. 11, said Saturday he plans to fight twice and then call out Mayweather.

"I want to make the biggest comeback in boxing history," De La Hoya said on DAZN.

He added: "I think Floyd, after that exhibition he did with Logan Paul, I think he's feeling like he has to prove something once again inside the boxing ring. So, look, if I come out OK - my body feels great. I tell you, my jab is feeling faster than ever. ... If I feel good in these next two fights that I have, I'm going to go out there and call Floyd."

Mayweather and De La Hoya met in a title bout in 2007, with Mayweather winning by split decision.

De La Hoya, 48, hasn't stepped into the ring since a 2008 loss to Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather, 44, went the distance with Paul, a YouTube star-turned-boxer, earlier in June. The legendary boxer retired from professional competition after a 2017 win over UFC star Conor McGregor, but he's competed in two exhibitions since then.
