Saturday night's game between the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals has been suspended in the sixth inning due to a shooting outside Nationals Park.

D.C. police confirmed four people were shot outside the ballpark. An investigation is active, but there doesn't appear to be an ongoing threat.

The shooting occurred as the top half of the sixth inning ended.

At the time the game was suspended, the Padres led the Nationals 8-4. The contest will resume Sunday at 1:05 p.m. ET ahead of the series finale, the team announced.
