Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard received a five-year contract extension that runs through the 2025-26 season, the school announced Friday.

The 50-year-old has manned the Badgers' post since taking over the program midway through the 2015-16 season. He sports a 119-70 (.630) record in Wisconsin and has led the school to four of the last five NCAA Tournaments.

The Badgers had an up-and-down 2020-21 campaign, jumping out to a 12-3 record before faltering down the stretch and losing nine of their last 14 games heading into the postseason.

The senior-laden squad was given a No. 8 seed in March Madness and blew out North Carolina in the first round but then fell to eventual champions Baylor in the Round of 32.
