Leafs place Vesey on waivers

The Toronto Maple Leafs placed forward Jimmy Vesey on waivers Tuesday, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
General manager Kyle Dubas said the team waived Vesey to increase roster flexibility, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.
The Leafs brought in the 27-year-old on a one-year deal worth $900,000 prior to the beginning of the season. The former Hobey Baker winner has amassed five goals and two assists over 30 games this campaign.
