Retired tight end Greg Olsen believes LeBron James would excel as an NFL wide receiver.
Appearing on "The Colin Cowherd Podcast" Monday, Olsen explained that while he doubts James would be successful long term in the NFL, he does think the Los Angeles Lakers star has what it takes to become an All-Pro.
"I think physically and athletically, he would be off the charts," Olsen said around the 55-minute mark. "Could he play wideout in the NFL? Yes, I do believe. Could he play tight end in the NFL? No. I'm not sure LeBron knows really what that means.
"If I could coach LeBron James for one year, I could make him an All-Pro wide receiver. There's no question in my mind. I could turn Russell Westbrook into an All-Pro free safety. There's a handful of those guys that could make the transition just because they are so unique, but there's few and far between those guys."
James was a first-team All-State receiver as a sophomore in high school. He recently revealed that he nearly tried out for the NFL during the NBA's 2011 lockout and is confident he would've signed with a team if he had.
