Kevin Garnett was one of the NBA's most notorious trash talkers during his playing days, but his words came back to bite him in one game against Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Wednesday, Garnett shared a story about trash talking Jordan as a 19-year-old.

"I was playing great, probably the best I ever played in my life at this point, alright? And it's against the Bulls, and J.R. Rider is having an unbelievable game too, and I'm just feeling 19," Garnett said. "I'm like, 'Yeah, keep going, you're killing him. Woo!' In the short form of it, Jimmy, I woke up a sleeping dog. It wasn't pleasant ... that big dog named Michael Jordan, and he bit. He bites and he plays hard.

"I kind of got like a warning shot, but I didn't take warning to the warning shot and it just turned bad, Jimmy. It turned really bad, and it turned bad quick."

Garnett is still haunted by that game to this day.

"It's definitely burned into my brain, but whenever I see Jordan, he always does the same thing every time," Garnett said. "He palms my head and he says, 'Remember the game I gave you 40 in three quarters?' ... and then he has like this sidekick of people around him and he's like, 'Pull that (video) up.' And then a guy goes and pulls it up!

"I'm like, 'What the? What is this?' Who walks around with ... this is really Jordan Brand. Who walks around with content? Like, teed up. It was an experience in which I quit talking trash to Michael."

Garnett also spoke about his new book and was surprised with a performance by one of his idols, jazz saxophonist Kenny G.
