Trending up

Nets (+1200 to +500)

Among East teams, the Nets had the third-best odds to win the championship before the season. Just 11 games in, Brooklyn owns the third-best odds overall, and its 5-1 price is now tops in the conference.

The Nets might be just 5-6, but advanced metrics are extremely high on them. They have an expected win-loss record of 8-3, and their projected winning percentage of .688 ranks third in the league.

With upcoming games against the Magic, Knicks, Cavaliers (twice), Hawks, and Wizards, the Nets might not have another attractive price for a while - even with the ongoing Kyrie Irving situation.

Suns (+6500 to +3500)

Remember when the Suns won eight straight to close out the bubble and nearly made the postseason in August? They haven't skipped a beat. Phoenix's odds have nearly been slashed in half through the first couple of weeks thanks to a 7-4 record out of the gate, including wins over the Mavericks, Jazz, and Raptors.

However, the West is generally off to a slow start. If you're a believer in Phoenix, you can probably wait for a better number down the road.

76ers (+2200 to +1600)

It seems the 76ers finally want to contend. First-year Philly head coach Doc Rivers has his club off to a 7-4 start, pushing past the Raptors (18-1) in the oddsboard.

Advanced metrics don't favor the Sixers - RPI ranks them just No. 15 in the league in power ratings. Perhaps an easy schedule can get them into a suitable spot in the postseason: Philadelphia owns the league's ninth-easiest schedule moving forward.
