Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is "hopeful" star defensive tackle Aaron Donald will be ready for the divisional round after suffering a rib injury in Saturday's wild-card win over the Seattle Seahawks, McVay told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

"This guy is an absolute machine," McVay said. "Never bet against AD."

X-rays on Donald's rib issue apparently came back clean. The All-Pro could've returned to the 30-20 win if needed, added Garafolo. He'll reportedly have an MRI on Sunday.

The two-time Defensive Player of the Year was hurt after landing awkwardly while taking down Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. Donald racked up two sacks and two tackles for loss before exiting.

L.A.'s divisional-round opponent will be determined by the New Orleans Saints-Chicago Bears matchup on Sunday. If the Saints win, L.A. will face the No. 1 seed Green Bay Packers. The Rams will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if the Bears earn the upset.
