The Philadelphia Eagles' benching of quarterback Jalen Hurts in a competitive Week 17 battle didn't sit well with running back Miles Sanders.

"Man, if I'm being honest, nobody liked the decision, nobody," Sanders said Tuesday on 94WIP. "That's all I can say really. I don't know who was the main person behind that decision. All I know is that a lot of people on the team was confused."

The Eagles were down three to the Washington Football Team when head coach Doug Pederson pulled Hurts for Nate Sudfeld early in the fourth quarter. The fourth-year veteran committed turnovers on his first two drives, dooming the Eagles and all but handing the NFC East crown to Washington.

A report Monday noted that the move stunned a number of Eagles players and coaches, and two defensive players were held back from approaching Pederson on the sideline. Pederson said afterward that he wanted to reward Sudfeld for four years of service with the Eagles, and he denied sabotaging the game to improve Philadelphia's draft position.

Sanders was inactive for the contest because of a knee injury. He was one of several Eagles regulars who didn't dress for the season finale.

The New York Giants also disapproved of the decision. They needed the Eagles to defeat Washington to take the division title and advance to the playoffs.
