Another team has entered the Jrue Holiday sweepstakes.

The Atlanta Hawks have emerged as a possible trade destination for the New Orleans Pelicans guard, The New York Times' Marc Stein reports. Atlanta would aim to acquire Holiday as part of a multi-team deal involving the team's No. 6 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

Holiday's elite two-way play would provide the Hawks' backcourt with some much-needed defensive reinforcements alongside sharpshooting floor general Trae Young.

The Pelicans - who own picks No. 13, 39, 42, and 60 - reportedly made the 30-year-old available in trade discussions earlier in November. The Denver Nuggets are also among the teams that have previously expressed interest in the former All-NBA talent.

Holiday is set to earn $25.4 million during the 2020-21 campaign. The UCLA product's contract contains a $26.3-million player option for 2021-22, which he's expected to decline to enter unrestricted free agency, according to Stein.
