Conor McGregor will fight Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 on Jan. 23, sources told MMA Fighting's Damon Martin.

McGregor and Poirier reportedly agreed to deals with the UFC by Monday night.

Poirier signed his contract and McGregor hadn't as of Tuesday afternoon, sources told ESPN's Ariel Helwani. But the Irishman isn't expected to be a hurdle in finalizing the bout.

The fight will reportedly be contested in the lightweight division. UFC 257, the first pay-per-view event of 2021, is expected to take place in Las Vegas, according to Martin.

McGregor last stepped into the Octagon in January, when he finished Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds in a welterweight bout.

Poirier, a former interim lightweight champion, is coming off a June win over Dan Hooker in what is considered a "Fight of the Year" candidate.

McGregor and Poirier met as featherweights in 2014, with the former picking up a first-round knockout victory.
