Packers working virtually after Dillon's reported positive test

The Green Bay Packers are holding meetings virtually after a player tested positive for COVID-19, the team confirmed Monday.

Running back A.J. Dillon produced the positive test and contact tracing is underway, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The result reportedly came from Sunday's pregame testing prior to the Packers' loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Dillon played 17 snaps against Minnesota, though the NFL and its medical experts have yet to discover evidence of on-field virus transmission, Pelissero reports.

It's the first such case for Green Bay during the regular season. Kicker Mason Crosby and tight end Jace Sternberger spent time on the COVID-19/reserve list during training camp this summer.

Matt LaFleur's squad is working on a short week, too, as its game is scheduled for Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Packers' decision to hold virtual meetings is reportedly viewed as a precaution.
