A rare 1909-11 T206 Honus Wagner baseball card set an auction record Sunday night by selling for more than $1.4 million.

The price was the most ever paid for a low-graded Wagner card, according to Goldin Auctions, which facilitated the sale.

The T206 Wagner is one of the most famous baseball cards ever produced, with around only 50 graded copies known to exist. A higher-graded version of the card recently sold for $3.25 million in a private sale, setting a new record for a vintage trading card.

Wagner played 21 seasons in the majors, the majority of which were spent with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was one the first five players to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936.
