Michael Vick is the latest athlete to join LeBron James' voting rights group More Than A Vote.
In the first episode of a new web series for More Than A Vote, the former NFL quarterback recalled learning he couldn't vote due to a felony conviction stemming from his involvement in a dogfighting ring. He was able to restore his voting rights with help from the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition.
James launched More Than A Vote with other Black athletes and artists in June to combat voter suppression.
As part of the group's efforts, they donated $100,000 to the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition to help pay off the fees and fines of ex-felons in the state, allowing them to vote in November's presidential election.
Thank you to the legend @MichaelVick for joining our fight. @Morethanavote #morethananathlete https://t.co/f34cftTirs
