A Super Bowl LIII championship ring Josh Gordon received as a member of the New England Patriots was auctioned off over the weekend.
The 10-karat gold ring - noted to be in "virtually pristine condition" - was sold by Heritage Auctions for $138,000, according to Sports Collectors Daily's Rich Mueller. The original display case and presentation box were included in the auction.
The Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Super Bowl LIII to capture the team's sixth Lombardi Trophy. Gordon didn't play in the game, as he was suspended in December 2018 for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
Gordon was suspended again by the league in December 2019 and has since applied for reinstatement. The receiver is reportedly interested in re-signing with the Seattle Seahawks, whom he joined midway through last season.
