The NBA, NHL, MLB, WNBA, and other sports leagues postponed action this week after the Milwaukee Bucks staged a walkout in protest of the shooting of Jacob Blake by police in Wisconsin. Other players across various leagues followed suit, and many NFL players openly debated how they would join the conversation.

Star quarterback Russell Wilson said Friday that had the Seattle Seahawks been in the midst of the regular season, they would not have played a game this week.

"Yeah, for sure," Wilson said on 710 AM ESPN Seattle, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. "I think just witnessing what happened to Jacob and everything else and all the things that have added up to this, it's devastating. It's truly devastating just to watch that."

The NBA will return to action Saturday after committing to establish a social justice coalition and agreeing to have team governors work with local election officials to use arenas as voting locations for the 2020 U.S. general election where possible.

Wilson and his teammates are discussing how to make a difference.

"I think for us as a team, for the Seahawks, we're definitely discussing what do we do next, how do we make a change, how do we cause movement, and how do we make a difference. We're in the midst of all that right now," he said.

"We don't have weeks and we don't have months, we don't have years to change it. We have to all do it together and we've got to do it now and we need change now and we need people to make a difference now."
