Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Melvin Ingram is sitting out from practice as he's unhappy with his contract, team sources told The Athletic's Daniel Popper. He did not attend practice on Friday or Monday.

Ingram is entering the final year of his deal after signing a four-year, $64-million extension in 2017.

He's scheduled to earn $16 million for the 2020 season - the 13th-richest average salary at the position - but watched as teammate Joey Bosa inked a record $135-million extension three weeks ago.

"Melvin Ingram is in meetings, he's in walkthroughs, he's at everything, individual. What he do on the practice field, we'll see later," head coach Anthony Lynn said before Monday's practice.

The 31-year-old has recorded seven sacks in each of the past two seasons and has 49 total sacks over eight seasons in the NFL.
