Giannis' 2nd signature sneaker unveiled

Giannis Antetokounmpo has a new shoe on the way.

The Milwaukee Bucks star's second signature sneaker, the Nike Zoom Freak 2, was unveiled Thursday ahead of its North American release July 25. The shoe was designed around Antetokounmpo's movement patterns.

"He loves simple, clean speed," Nike Basketball senior creative director Ross Klein said during a recent Zoom call with media, according to Forbes' Chris Cason. "He likes the thing to look like it's moving before it even takes a step. How he connects it with himself is he likes to say when people look at me, they know generally what I can do and he wants a shoe that says that. For us as designers, we look at purpose, and purpose and design has to go hand in hand."

Along with Antetokounmpo's involvement in the design process, his four brothers also provided input on the shoe.

The Zoom Freak 2 is expected to make its on-court debut during the NBA playoffs in Orlando.
