Major League Baseball and the MLBPA announced its final test results from intake screening of players and staff entering camps.

Of 3,748 samples taken during intake, 66 (1.8%) came back positive, with 58 of those coming from players while the remaining eight were staff members.

Covered individuals have moved onto monitoring tests. Tier 1 individuals (players, coaches, trainers) will be tested every other day while Tier 2 individuals (front-office staff, clubhouse attendants) will have multiple tests per week. The total number of samples collected so far stands at 7,401 - 17 of which were new positives.

MLB has seen 83 positive tests out of 11,149 samples (0.7%) since intake screening began on June 27. Twenty-eight different teams have seen at least one positive test come out of this process.

For those who have tested positive for COVID-19, they will have to have two consecutive negative tests before being allowed to reenter camp.
