Shaq recalls meeting Kobe for 1st time in Magic locker room

Shaquille O'Neal reminisced about meeting his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant for the first time on Thursday's episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

As O'Neal recalled, Bryant approached him in the Orlando Magic locker room after being snubbed by Penny Hardaway.

"I was in Orlando, and him and his family came into the locker room and he asked Penny for an autograph, and I guess Penny kind of blew him off or whatever," O'Neal said. "I'm not sure, I don't know, but this is what Kobe was telling me. And then he said he came up to me, and I was real nice to him.

"I never knew that until one day he told me. This rookie, he's like, 'You remember me?' I was like, 'No.' He's like, 'I came in the locker room.' I was like, 'Oh yeah, that was you.'"

O'Neal and Bryant would go on to win three NBA championships in their eight seasons together in L.A.
