Multiple Toronto Blue Jays players and staff members have tested positive for COVID-19, a source told Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.
The positive tests are related to the shutdown of the team's facilities in Dunedin, Florida, last Friday when one Blue Jays pitcher demonstrated symptoms, Davidi notes.
The unnamed pitcher developed symptoms after spending time with Philadelphia Phillies players. The Phillies' camp at Clearwater, Florida, was shut down due to an outbreak in coronavirus cases.
With MLB planning to start its 60-game season at the end of July, it's still uncertain where the Blue Jays will play their home games. The club is hopeful to return to the Rogers Centre in Toronto, but nothing has been announced.
