It turns out Aaron Carter wasn't lying when he sang about beating Shaquille O'Neal in 2001.

O'Neal was asked about the song Tuesday during an appearance on E! News' "HappE! Hour" and revealed it's based on a true story of Carter beating him in a game of HORSE. Carter would often come over to O'Neal's house while his older brother, Nick Carter, and the Backstreet Boys were recording their first album there.

"We had a HORSE game one day and he beat me," O'Neal recalled. "Then he came back and said, 'I want to do a song' and I said, 'Sure.' He asked me to be in the video and I said, 'Sure.' So, I've been knowing those guys ever since 1992."

The NBA legend got revenge on Carter years later on his show "Upload with Shaquille O'Neal."
