The Las Vegas Raiders may be using Elon Musk's underground people mover to transport fans to and from games in the future.
The Boring Company - one of Musk's businesses along with Tesla, Inc. and SpaceX - recently completed construction on two tunnels located beneath the Las Vegas Convention Center, and according to Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the system could eventually connect to Allegiant Stadium.
"Las Vegas has always been a town built off innovation and The Boring Company's project at the convention center is another example of that," Raiders president Marc Badain said. "If they want to extend it to the stadium, we'd be extremely supportive and think it would be great for the city and for the stadium project."
Steve Hill, CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said the system linking the convention center to the stadium could be completed as early as the 2021 NFL season.
"Things would have to go really well in order to make that happen. But that's probably the earliest possible time that we could get a system really connected to the stadium," he said.
The Raiders are scheduled to begin playing at Allegiant Stadium this season.
