Through two days of the NFL draft, the New England Patriots have yet to address the elephant in the room: their future at quarterback.

With only 2019 pick Jarrett Stidham and veteran journeyman Brian Hoyer on the roster, and Tom Brady now in Tampa Bay, the Patriots were expected to target a quarterback. However, New England traded out of the first round, then used their five picks on Day 2 on three defenders and two tight ends.

The Patriots aren't done with the position, however.

"We're going to have a third quarterback on our roster, pair them up with Jarrett and Brian," Patriots director of player personnel said Saturday morning in a video press conference.

"There's still some players I think that have a possibility ending up on this team. We have the picks sort of spread out (Saturday). There's different ways that you can get the players on your team."

Caserio didn't specify whether that third quarterback will come via Saturday's selections in the draft, a trade, or through free agency, with former starters such as Cam Newton and Jameis Winston still available.

"We're going to have another player here at this position. Where he comes from and how he gets here is sort of yet to be determined."
