The reunion of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski in Tampa Bay has another former New England Patriots player thinking about joining the Buccaneers.

Following Gronkowski's trade to the Bucs on Tuesday, retired linebacker and current ESPN analyst Rob Ninkovich jokingly asked Brady to help bring him to Tampa Bay too.

Ninkovich said on ESPN's "NFL Live" that Gronkowski hinted at coming out of retirement the last time they saw each other.

"I was over at his house the other day, 6 feet apart, I went and got a pair of dumbbells to do a little workout and he said something strange to me," Ninkovich said. "He said, 'Hey look, Ninko, if I ever come back, are you gonna come back?’ And I was like, 'No, I'm 36. What does that mean? You got a twinkle in your eye? What's going on?'

"So, it's very, very interesting that they have traded his rights over to Tampa Bay. It's crazy. ... He did say he would not catch another football from another quarterback. So, he's gonna catch a football from Tom Brady. It seems like it's a match made in heaven, right?"

Ninkovich spent eight of his 11 NFL seasons in New England, winning two Super Bowl championships with the team.
