A rare Ty Cobb baseball card issued during his rookie year with the Detroit Tigers has hit the auction block.

The 1907 W600 Sporting Life cabinets card is being sold by Robert Edward Auctions and is expected to fetch at least $300,000, according to Detroit's 97.1 The Ticket. Bidding is currently at $200,000 with 12 days remaining in the auction.

"This is one of Ty Cobb’s rare and most striking cards," Robert Edward Auctions president Brian Dwyer said. "Collectors have a unique opportunity to own one of the rarest cards; this may be one of only six in existence based upon the reports of the professional graders."

Last April, another rare Cobb card - a mint 1915 Cracker Jack card - sold at auction for over $500,000.

Cobb played for the Tigers from 1905 until 1926 and simultaneously served as the team's manager for his last six years in Detroit.
