The U.S. Open is the latest golf tournament to be pushed back because of the coronavirus outbreak, as sources told Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post that the event will be postponed until later in the summer.

The season's third major was slated to begin June 18 at Winged Foot Golf Club just outside of New York City, one of the hardest-hit areas in the United States by the global pandemic. While the date will be moved, the USGA is still planning on holding the event at the historic venue.

The Masters and PGA Championship have already been postponed due to the outbreak, with July's Open Championship at Royal St. George's the only major still slated to be played during its original date.

The PGA Tour hasn't played a round since the cancelation of The Players Championship after one round on March 12.
