Canadiens sign Gustav Olofsson to 1-year contract

The Montreal Canadiens inked defenseman Gustav Olofsson to a one-year, two-way deal, the team announced Wednesday.
The contract will pay Olofsson $750,000 at the NHL level and $250,000 at the AHL level, with $350,000 in guaranteed salary.
Olofsson, 25, contributed 17 points in 59 games with the AHL's Laval Rocket in 2019-20. He also appeared in three games with the Canadiens, logging 8:06 of average ice time.
The 6-foot-3 blue-liner was originally selected by the Minnesota Wild in the second round of the 2013 NHL Draft.
