Major League Baseball will need to get creative with how the 2020 season is played, and Bud Black has heard a unique potential approach to the forthcoming campaign.
"I've even heard that there might be talk of being creative and making, you know, seven-inning (doubleheaders)," the skipper continued, before adding "I'd be up for some sort of doubleheader situation."
Opening Day was originally scheduled for Thursday. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, MLB isn't expected to resume until at least mid-May.
This past week, Hall of Fame closer Mariano Rivera questioned the integrity of crowning a champion after a shortened season.
Major League Baseball has yet to publicly discuss how the upcoming season could be rescheduled.
"We'd have to look to make sure it works for both sides," Black said, referring to the union and the owners.
