PSG-Dortmund to be played behind closed doors at Parc des Princes

Paris police confirmed Monday that Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund will play Wednesday's Champions League round-of-16 match at the Parc des Princes behind closed doors amid growing fears about the coronavirus.

The French government had announced Sunday night that gatherings of more than 1,000 people are prohibited until further notice.

Dortmund beat PSG 2-1 in the first leg in Germany.

Fears over the coronavirus in the Lower Rhine region of France also resulted in PSG's scheduled match against Strasbourg on Saturday to be postponed. That was the first game in France to be impacted by the global virus.

The upcoming Dortmund-PSG fixture is the second Champions League match to be affected, as it was confirmed last week that Valencia's second-leg encounter with Atalanta in Spain will be played without fans.

Barcelona are expected to meet with Catalan government officials to determine if their match against Napoli next week at the Camp Nou will be played behind closed doors, reports Jonathan Johnson of ESPN. A decision is expected to be made on Tuesday, according to Johnson.

Meanwhile, RB Leipzig confirmed Sunday that their clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday will go ahead as planned despite calls from the German health minister to cancel the game.
