A movie about the life of Kurt Warner will be hitting theaters later this year.
The biopic, titled "American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story," is based on interviews with the Hall of Fame quarterback and his memoir, "All Things Possible: My Story of Faith, Football, and the First Miracle Season," according to Variety's Dave McNary. It's scheduled to be released Dec. 18.
Brothers Jon and Andrew Erwin will direct and produce the movie through their Kingdom Story Company. Warner and his wife, Brenda, will co-produce.
"For the longest time I dreamed of having a story similar to many of my heroes, but as my journey began to stray further and further from that path, I wondered, 'Why me?' As I look back on that journey now, I believe I am finally able to answer that question," Warner said in a statement.
Warner, a two-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP, retired from the NFL in 2010 following a 12-year career that included stints with the St. Louis Rams, New York Giants, and Arizona Cardinals.
