Jamal Adams accuses Jets GM of shopping him at trade deadline
The New York Jets held pat and kept running back Le'Veon Bell, receiver Robby Anderson, and safety Jamal Adams through Tuesday's trade deadline, but the damage from the trade rumors may have already been done.
After the deadline passed at 4 p.m. ET, Adams took to Twitter to share his side of the story, stating he never asked to be traded and accusing Jets general manager Joe Douglas of shopping him behind his back.
Any reports of me asking to be traded from the New York Jets are completely false.

At the end of the week last week, I sat down with the GM and Coach Gase and told them I want to be here in New York. I was told yesterday by my agent that the GM then went behind my back and shopped me around to teams, even after I asked him to keep me here! Crazy business.

Douglas spoke to the media following the deadline and said he received offers for many players, but the GM added he never sought a trade for his stars.
"We value these players a lot. The value that was offered didn't equal the value that we have for them in the organization," Douglas said, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.
"Those weren't players we were shopping. But what I was taught, when a team calls you, you should always listen to what they had to say," he continued.
Douglas spoke with Anderson and Bell post-deadline and said he intends to also speak with Adams.
After Adams' tweet, Douglas addressed the situation further on "The Michael Kay Show."
"We were not shopping Jamal, I can promise you that," Douglas said, according to Vacchiano. "Teams have been calling us since there was a social media issue a few weeks back. My message was clear: Jamal is an absolute stud and we're not interested in moving him. Teams called anyway. We were never in serious trade talks."
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Jets were only willing to part with Adams for a first-round pick and two second-round picks. The Dallas Cowboys offered one first-round pick and a Day 3 pick, according to NFL Network's Jane Slater.
