Dolphins' Flores: Rosen remains starter despite benching
Miami Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen is still the team's starter despite being benched on Sunday versus the Washington Redskins, head coach Brian Flores said postgame.
Rosen was removed to begin the fourth quarter, with Ryan Fitzpatrick replacing him. The veteran led Miami on a pair of touchdown drives, giving the Dolphins a chance to win their first game this season. The club ultimately failed to convert a potential go-ahead two-point try with six seconds left.
"Josh will continue to be the starter," Flores told reporters. "If we feel like we need a spark and Fitz has to go in, we'll continue to do that."
